VELOCITY SPORTS PERFORMANCE NAMED OFFICIAL PERFORMANCE TRAINING PARTNER OF D.C. UNITED OF MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER
Aliso, Viejo, CA – Jan 24, 2007—Velocity Sports Performance, an advanced sports performance training company for athletes of all ages and skill levels, announced today that Velocity Sports Performance will be the official performance training center for Major League Soccer’s D.C. United and D. C. United’s Youth Soccer teams and Academy.
Based on the agreement, Velocity Sports Performance will partner with D.C. United in providing the MLS team year-round performance training for their professional soccer players and their top flight D.C. United Youth teams. The agreement states that Velocity’s Alexandria and Ashburn facilities will be Official sponsors of D.C United as well as the Official Sports Performance Company of D.C. United. Other aspects of the agreement include Velocity’s ability to utilize D.C. United Players for appearances; Velocity signage at games, as well as inclusion in joint radio spots and logo recognition at www.dcunited.com.
The announcement comes at an important time in the soccer world with the recent signing of David Beckham to the Los Angeles Galaxy. Soccer will continue to grow in the American sports landscape and Velocity Sports Performance centers will play a major role in shaping future soccer stars.

The Velocity Sports Performance partnership provides additional benefits to D.C. It allows our players year-round access to a state-of-the-art facility and top-notch coaching staff in helping us improve our on-field performance via the latest athletic training techniques and protocols. This relationship is a nice complement to what my staff is doing with our players.”
