Welcome to the Velocity Baseball Academy. We offer one-on-one instruction in both hitting and pitching. Our Director of Hitting Instruction in Bruce Fields, who is currently a Hitting Coordinator in the Cleveland Indians organization, and our Director of Pitching Instruction is Kenny Howell, a former MLB pitcher and current Bullpen Coach for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Meet Our Coaches
Bruce Fields
Position: Director of Hitting Instruction
Biography: Bruce Fields joins Velocity Sports Performance at the Director of Hitting Instruction in the Velocity Baseball Academy. Mr. Fields is a graduate of Lansing Community College where he then broke into the major leagues joining the Detroit Tiger Baseball Organization in 1986. After retiring as a player from Major League Baseball, Mr. Fields joined the Detroit Tigers Baseball organization as a coach and hitting instructor. Mr. Fields has held various coaching positions with various Major League Baseball organizations and is currently the minor league hitting coordinate for the Cleveland Indians Baseball organization.

Ken Howell
Position: Director of Pitching Instruction
Biography: Ken Howell joins Velocity Sports Performance as the Director of Pitching Instruction in the Velocity Baseball Academy. Mr. Howell is a graduate of Tuskegee University where he was then drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1982 where he pitched in the Major League Baseball for sevens years. After retiring as a Major League pitcher Mr. Howell became a pitching coach for various minor and major league teams. Recently Mr. Howell was named Bullpen coach for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He also provides private pitching instruction to baseball players within the Detroit metropolitan area.

Jordon Banfield
Position: Hitting & Pitching Instructor
Biography: Jordon Banfield joins the Velocity Sports Performance team as a hitting & pitching instructor in the Velocity Baseball Academy. Mr. Banfield brings his experience of being a head coach in the Ann Arbor Public School District to the athletes at Velocity Sports Performance. Prior to coaching in the Ann Arbor School District Mr. Banfield played for the Ann Arbor Braves a local travel team that won two national titles as well as being on the Michigan All State Baseball team in 2004. Mr. Banfield is currently attending the University of Michigan majoring in Sports Management.

Pam Cameron
Position: Softball Hitting Instructor
Biography: Softball Hitting Instructor Pam Cameron brings both playing and coaching experience as well as the love of athletics to the Velocity Baseball Academy. She received her Bachelor degree in Corporate Fitness from Grand Valley State University where she was an outfielder for the softball team. Pam received all conference honors and was named an Academic All American. Coach Cameron received her Master Degree in Leisure Services from the University of Illinois where also served as the Women's Assistant Softball Coach.
