Day 1 Of Camp

Hello! I've settled in up here and have been staying with my host family the past two nights. The family is very nice and have a really nice house. They have 11 year old twin girls and a 13 year old girl. All of them play competitive soccer and I even went to my first futsol game yesterday to see the twins play. I have pretty nice setup here with my own private bedroom and bathroom downstairs. The mom's only request was that I squeegee the shower doors! haha, I thought that was funny. ...

Off to the Bay Area!

Hey Everyone! So the countdown has already begun. I will be leaving in 2 days and I am ready to begin this experience. We have all been told to “Sit up straight” or “Don’t slouch your shoulders” at some point in our lives, usually by our Parents. It turns out they were teaching us to improve our posture. Poor posture can be an indicator of a weak core. Our core muscles surround and support our spine and are responsible for maintaining good posture. As parents, we have an overwhelming desire to give to our children.  When they hit preschool age we begin to receive invitations to have them join a baseball team or a soccer program.  As other kids join, we don’t want ours to miss out so we sign up too. We have all the best intentions but we may not consider whether our child is ready to play.  Unfortunately, there is not a sports readiness exam the way there is a kindergarten readiness exam.  No one outlines the basic skills necessary to...
