4-week Basketball Training Camp

Velocity Sports Performance-Champlin is excited to offer 2009 Basketball Training Programs to help bring your athletes to the next level!
 
Increase your speed, quickness and agility:  There is no defense against speed. No solution for quickness. And at Velocity Sports Performance, we'll give you both.  Through proper movement, techniques and re-engineered motor patterns, you'll gain a quicker first step, improve your speed (up and down the court) and increase your ability to change directions.
 
Gain Strength: Our scientifically-designed programs increase strength through muscle recruitment, rather than through the traditional approach of "size=strength." So instead of just being bigger, you'll be stronger and able to produce game-winning power from the time of the tip-off to the final buzzer.

Explode towards the hoop:  Jump higher! Our programs target elastic force development and muscle recruitment -two commonly ignored attributes that give you the ability to truly explode from the ground.

Reduce likelihood of injury: Velocity Sports Performance prepares your body with progressive training methods that utilize dynamic mobility development, pre-habilitation exercises, and movement analysis to reduce likelihood of acute and overuse injuries.
 
Training Frequency: 3 times a week (90 minute sessions) for a total of 12 sessions.
 
Session Summary:

* Monday/Thursday Sessions:
1. 20 minutes of active, dynamic warm-up that will increase performance and reduce injuries.
2. 20 minutes of movement (acceleration, multi-directional, or maximum velocity) pre-determined by a Velocity Sports Performance Coach.
3. 20 minutes of resistance training/core training where we will focus on gaining strength,     power and explosiveness.
4. 30 minutes of shooting, using the Gun 3 shooting machine
* Tuesday Sessions:
1.
20 minutes of active, dynamic warm-up that will increase performance and reduce injuries.
2. 65 minutes of skills training with Steve Brown, Youth Basketball Director with the MN Timberwolves.  Steve will provide instruction on shooting, ball handling, and other BB specific skills.

Program Options:
  • Program #1 -- August 3-27 (Completed)
  • Program #2 -- September 14-October 8
  • Program #3 -- October 12-November 5 

** Please note that all 12 training sessions must be used within each 4 week program **
