Tim Gibson

Position: Sports Performance Coach

Biography

 Tim Gibson begins his first season with Velocity Sports Performance, serving as a coach and trainer of youth athletes. Prior to joining the Velocity team, Gibson spent two years training in power and Olympic lifting under the leadership of Lee University’s sports trainer Clinton Spencer. In correlation with Gibson’s training at Lee, Gibson began a business degree with the university.
 
Gibson also earned the title of the 2005 Natural Athlete Strength Association (NASA) first place state champion in power lifting bench press and power sorts in his weight class, as well as the 2005 NASA first place national champion in power lifting bench press and power sports in his weight class.
 
Gibson began his career while starring as a wide receiver through two years of varsity football at East Mecklenburg High School. Gibson graduated from East Mecklenburg High School in 2001. Gibson, a native of Silver Springs, Maryland, moved to the Charlotte area at the age of 10.
