Biography

Coach Nestler comes to us most recently from the University of Rhode Island where he was a Strength and Conditioning Coach for two years. While at Rhode Island, Coach Nestler had an opportunity to work with all 18 Division I teams, giving him experience with working with athletes from all sport backgrounds. Before coaching at his alma matter, Coach Nestler received his Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Kinesiology in 2009.
 
Coach Nestler attended Chatham High School (NJ) where he was a member of the football and lacrosse teams. He is an avid mixed martial artist who places his motto of "making every rep count" on every athlete he coaches. PJ has worked with athletes from the NFL, AFL & UFC just to name a few.
 
Coach Nestler is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength & Conditioning Association as well as a Certified Sports Performance Coach through USA Weightlifting.
 

Getting to know Coach Nestler
 
Story:
Coach Nestler grew up in the Bay Area and went to high school in New Jersey where he played WR/CB in football and midfield in lacrosse for 4 years. He graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2009 and worked as an Athletic Performance Specialist at Parisi Speed School in NJ; returned to URI as the Assistant Strength & Conditioning coach to work with the Division 1 Football (1AA), Basketball, Baseball, Soccer, Volleyball, Tennis, Track & Field, Softball, Swimming, Rowing, and Golf teams. He trained and competed in submission grappling, Muay Thai kickboxing and mixed martial arts in 2006. In June 2011, he moved back to California to work with Todd at Cutting Edge Sports Training.

Other fun facts:
My mom runs her own non-profit organization to help rescue women/girls of Uganda called Set Her Free. I plan to travel to Africa with her on one of her trips soon.
I have watched Kirk eat 7 chickens with his bare hands.
I have 2 younger brothers and an older sister who I am very close with.
I can hold my breath for over 4 minutes
I once beat Mollie Owen in a 30 yard shuttle cartwheel race
My ultimate goal would be to train a team of professional MMA and work with the US Military Special Forces.
