Sertoma Classic Velocity Sports Performance Athletic Challenge

 

 

 
The search is on for the best athlete in the Low Country. Whether you are from an AAAA high school or the smallest of SCISA schools, you can compete for bragging rights and scholarship money for college.

 

 

Where:          Velocity Sports Performance

 

 

When:           Mon July 26, 8:30am; Wed July 28, 8:30am; or Sat July 31, 12:30pm

Cost:       $10- Each athlete’s fee will be put into the SERTOMA College Fund and awarded to the athlete that best represents the principles of SERTOMA. An application is to be filled out and available from Velocity Sports Performance.

What:     The Nike/SPARQ Football Rating Formula (www.sparqtraining.com), will be administered to all participants.   Each athlete will be weighed, and tested in the Vertical Jump, 40-yard Dash, Agility Shuttle, and Kneeling Power Ball Toss. The athletes’ scores are imputed into the SPARQ program. The SPARQ Program will give each athlete a percentage score.  The athletes with the highest percentage score will be highlighted in newspapers, websites and during the SERTOMA Classic.

 

 

Divisions:      Two divisions will be represented. One division will be “Clydesdale”; those who weigh 200 lbs or more, and “Stallions”; those who weigh less than 200 lbs.

 

 

 On Field Competition:  The 6 finalists from each division will compete against “the clock” during the Thursday and Friday night of the SERTOMA Classic. Finalists will complete a short “agility-style” obstacle course on the field.  The top category winners from each night will be presented with a trophy and be recognized after the competition.

 

 

Winning isn’t everything. But the will to win is.
