Program Highlights:
 
  • Paid Professional Coaching
  • Min. 10 Players, Max. 11 Players Per Team 
  • Teams Practice Twice Per Week / Tournaments on Weekends (Approximately 21 Team Practices & 8 Tournaments)
  • 5 Months of Unlimited Sports Performance Training March - June '10. (optional)  Training available at Warrenville and St. Charles locations. 
  • 3 Private Basketball Lessons (optional)
  • Cost:  $1,100 + Uniform  (Payment Plan Available)

Optional program highlights are highly recommended, however, can be omitted from program to reduce cost to as low as $990 + uniform.

Season:
 
Grades 9th - 11th:  Practice and Tournaments, March-May & July (Month of June is OFF to allow players to participate in their summer school programs)
Grades 5th-8th:  Practice and Tournaments, March - June
 
Program History:
 
Velocity began with only two 15U Boys Teams in the spring of 2007.  Since then  . .
  • 3 Division 1 players signed in our first alumni class of 2010 (Tim Rusthoven - Wheaton Academy, Matt Hasse - Naperville North, Dave Dudzinski - Kaneland.)
  • 10 more players will play at the Division 1, 2, 3 or JuCo or NAIA levels.
  • 3-time National Qualifiers and over 10 tournament titles.
  • Defeated the 17U Illinois Wolves twice in 2009.

 

 
 Basketball Director Dr. Thomas Earl Read  

Velocity Basketball Academy Director -  Dr. Thomas Earl Reed has 23 years of coaching experience at the college level.  He started his coaching career at Yuba Community College in Yuba, Ca as the Assistant Head Men’s Basketball Coach and continued his coaching career at California State University , Chico as the assistant men’s basketball coach before assuming the Head Men’s Basketball coach position at Oberlin College .  After a 3 year stint at Oberlin College , Dr. Reed assumed the Head Women’s Basketball coach position at College of DuPage . Dr. Reed women’s teams at College of DuPage posted 10 N4C Conference Championships, 5 State Championships and 2 National Championships.  He has received 10 N4C Coach-of- the-Year awards, 5 Region IV Coach-of-the-Year awards and 2 National Community College Coach-of -the-Year awards. Dr. Reed also served as the Associate Dean of P.E. and Director of Athletics at College of DuPage.  In his four year tenure the athletic program was the recipient of the National Alliance Two Year College Athletic Association (NATYCAA) Program of the Year award for three consecutive years.
