Biography
| Pro Career 2005: Roby played in 13 games with six starts and totaled 21 receptions for 289 yards (13.8 avg.) with one touchdown and gained 16 yards (8.0 avg.) on two carries. Also returned 22 kickoffs for 495 yards (22.5 avg.). He was inactive three contests (9/25-10/9) with turf toe injury. Selected by Titans with the first of two third-round selections (68th overall) in the 2005 NFL Draft. |
| College Career Roby started three games as a true freshman, catching 11 passes for 171 yards and a touchdown. He added 80 yards on four kickoff returns. He started 10 games at flanker as a sophomore, catching 59 passes for 1,039 yards (18.5 avg.) and four scores. His 59 grabs rank second on the school's single-season record list, topped only by Ernie Jones' 66 catches in 1987. He joined Jones (1,256 in 1987) and Thomas Lewis (1,058 in 1993) as the only players in school history to gain over 1,000 yards receiving in a season. Roby also returned 11 kickoffs for 227 yards (20.6 avg.) and carried seven times for 43 yards (6.1 avg.) in 2002. Roby started every game at flanker in 2003, missing the entire Michigan game and most of the Michigan State contest with a right knee sprain. He still managed to snatch 45 passes for 504 yards (11.2 avg.), but failed to score any touchdowns. He added 193 yards on 10 kickoff returns and 41 yards on eight rushing attempts (5.1 avg.). Roby moved to split end as a senior, leading the team with 55 receptions for 810 yards (14.7 avg.) and seven touchdowns. His 55 grabs rank tied for third on the Hoosiers' single-season record list. He also carried 21 times for 135 yards (6.4 avg.) and a pair of scores, adding 67 yards on three kickoff returns (22.3 avg.). Roby started 35 of 45 games during his career. He finished with 170 receptions for 2,524 yards (14.8 avg.) and 12 touchdowns, breaking the previous school all-time marks of 148 catches by Thomas Lewis (1991-93) and 2,361 yards by Jones (1984-87). He also gained 567 yards on 28 kickoff returns (20.3 avg.), 211 yards and two scores on 37 carries (5.7 avg.), had a 5-yard punt return and recorded four solo tackles. He gained 3,387 all-purpose yards during his time with the Hoosiers. |
