Stephanie Kunz has been an athlete all of her life, playing baseball, football, rugby, gold, volleyball, basketball, track and softball. She graduated from John Jay High School in San Antonio, Texas in 1997. Kunz later graduated from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas , where she attained her Bachelor of Science, majoring in Kinesiology and a minor in Secondary Education.

During her collegiate years, she was the starting catcher and captain of her Division II softball team. She won numerous awards including Female Athlete of the Year, National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics outstanding Leadership Award, All conference, All Southwest Region, First Team All-American NAIA, and Second Team All-American NCAA swimming, high school basketball and also tutors athletes privately in her spare time. Currently, she plays on two competitive softball teams in Florida.
