Performance Team

Velocity Sports Performance – Southbay, led by Coach Ken Vick, is a powerhouse in the sports performance industry and that includes combat sports.  Vick brings over 17 years of experience in the athletic, coaching and training arena. Fighters and grapplers he has helped reads like the who’s who of the combative world; Vladimir Matyushenko, Frank Trigg, Mac Danzig, Fernando Vasconseulas, to name a few and  fighters that have fought in UFC, Pride, Bushido, IFL, K-1, and more.

Vick is also the Sports Performance Director of Velocity Sports Performance in Redondo Beach . This is where some of the world’s best athletes train.  They range from NFL players to Olympic team members, and from the US and abroad.  They boast a staff with expertise in strength & power, energy system development, functional training, sports medicine, nutrition and performance psychology.

Here you will find degreed professionals with over four decades of experience in athletics, coaching and education.   Combining the art & science of performance, they integrate everything you need to perform your best.
 

The Training

The modern combat athlete needs a very well rounded arsenal.  Maximum and isometric strength, explsoive and reactive power, aerobic and anaerobic conditioning, core strength, and flexibilty are all important.  This camp will address them all to build the tools you take into training and competition.  You'll learn how to train and recover like the world's elite athletes do.
