Biography

Coach Hicks joined the Southlake Velocity team in the fall of 2005. Currently Gabe is an instructor at the University of North Texas (UNT) in the kinesiology department. He received his BS and MS from UNT and has been working with athletes at the high school and collegiate level for over 5 years. He is a member of the Texas High School Coaches Association.

After graduating from Schentz Samuel Clemens High School, Coach Gabe spent 5 years in the US Navy. Gabe served in many different areas all across the world and was an air-sea rescue swimmer and crewman in the SH60 (helicopter), certified in emergency medical training. He has been involved with sports instruction and physical training for over 15 years.
